Website created March 2010 by big3design.com From the Chief’s Desk      Spring time is almost here, getting the fishing rod out of the closet, doing a little house cleaning, and cleaning up around the yard and property are all things we do this time of the year.  I want to talk about after you’ve cleaned all the debris around the property and you decide to burn it. I’s been very dry in this area lately. We have had a lot of grass and woods fires in the county that get started from small trash and brush that is being burned. These fires could endanger structures in the path of these fires.  I would like to mention a few simple common sense ideas when burning outside. Rake and clean the debris in the surrounding area around your fire Burn in the morning when the wind is low and humidity is higher. The best time to burn is when there is dew on the ground, or it has recently rained. Never start the fire if there is a wind of over 10 miles per hour.  If there is a garden hose available pull it out and keep it handy. It is not a bad idea to wet down the area around the fire.  Never leave your fire unattended!!! You are responsible for any damage caused by your fire.   If the fire gets out of control call 911 as soon as possible!                                                                                              Have a safe spring!                                                                                Chief Dale
